FAQ — Kambo Medicine Cleanse

Question 1

What is Kambô?

Accepted Answer

Kambô is the waxy secretion of the Phyllomedusa Bicolor, a tree frog native to the upper Amazon rainforest. It has been used for centuries by indigenous Amazonian tribes — known simply as "The Inoculation" — for physical purification, mental clarity, and spiritual alignment. It is not a psychedelic and does not produce hallucinations.

Question 2

What conditions does Kambô help with?

Accepted Answer

Kambô is especially effective for depression, anxiety, substance abuse and addiction, PTSD, sexual trauma, autoimmune conditions, Lyme disease, musculoskeletal pain, heavy metal and chemical toxicity, infertility, and chronic pain. Clients invariably report feeling lighter, more emotionally intact, and empowered to make changes where they were previously blocked.

Question 3

What are Rapéh and Sananga?

Accepted Answer

Rapéh (pronounced ha-PAY) is a sacred shamanic snuff made from tobacco and other Amazonian plants, used for grounding, clearing the mind, and opening ceremony. Sananga is a powerful eye drop medicine made from Amazonian roots, used to sharpen vision — physical and spiritual — and clear energetic blockages. Both are served alongside Kambô as part of the ceremonial container.

Question 4

Is Kambô safe?

Accepted Answer

Kambô is generally safe when administered by a trained practitioner who conducts a thorough health screening beforehand. There are contraindications, which is why a pre-session intake is required. Kambô should never be self-administered or taken without proper guidance.

Question 5

Who should NOT take Kambô?

Accepted Answer

Kambô is contraindicated for people with serious heart conditions, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, a history of stroke or aneurysm, those with severe mental health conditions such as active psychosis, people taking certain medications including immunosuppressants, and those who have recently undergone surgery. A full health intake is conducted before every session.

Question 6

Will I purge?

Accepted Answer

Purging — which often includes vomiting — is a central part of the Kambô experience. It is the body's way of releasing toxins and stagnant energy. Most people find that while the purge is intense, it is brief and followed by a profound sense of relief, clarity, and lightness. There are many forms of purge, besides vomiting. Connie will discuss during your intake call.

Question 7

How long does a session last?

Accepted Answer

The active effects of Kambô typically last 20–40 minutes. Including preparation, ceremony, and a rest period afterward, plan for a total of 2–3 hours.

Question 8

What is the Cycle of Three?

Accepted Answer

Kambô is best received in a Cycle of 3 — three sessions within one moon cycle, or ideally 3 in 3 days. This traditional approach allows for a deeper, more complete cleanse. Single sessions are also available for those new to the medicine.

Question 9

Is Kambô legal?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Kambô is legal in the United States and most countries. It is not a controlled substance. It is a natural secretion used in ceremonial and wellness contexts.

Question 10

How do I prepare?

Accepted Answer

Preparation is important for both safety and the quality of your experience. You will be asked to fast for 12 hours before your session, avoid alcohol, drugs and heavy foods in the days prior, and arrive with a clear intention. After booking your appointment with prepayment, you will receive an extensive Prep & Information document, as well as contact with Connie up to the session. There are also spiritual preparations and mental preparations, which are discussed in the hourlong intake call.

Question 11

How do I reserve a session?

Accepted Answer

To reserve, payment is required in advance. Contact Connie directly through the contact page to discuss scheduling, preparation, and payment.
